New World Tour de Wakatipu |

Born out of the idea of having a fun challenging mountain bike event set in the Wakatipu Basin that links the two rivers and two lakes using some of the new tracks developed by the Wakatipu Trails Trust.
From the front of the field there will be intense competition as these athletes race to finish the event in a time of around 2.5 - 3hrs, while the recreational athletes will finish in just 5hrs

Location: Starting in the Millbrook area competitors will descend via the newly gazetted Wakatipu Trails Trust track, and follow to cross Speargrass flat Rd and ascend Slope Hill Road.
Continue on Slope Hill Road to descend via lower Shotover Rd and Domain Rd onto the scenic single track that follows the true left bank of the Shotover River.
Across the restored Shotover Bridge and follow gravel road and 4*4 tracks to the Shotover delta before joining the Kawarau river track and then across the Kawarau River Bridge
One kilometer of highway riding (coned off from the traffic) will have the riders approach the scenic and private Kawarau River Road down the true right bank. A gently undulating ride will bring riders to the finish line at the Chard farm winery with bbq and band.
