For 2013 w have added a 12.5km run. This will start at the base of the Remarkabes on Mike Mees farm and finish in Chard Farm winery.

NZ$45 Junior (19 years and under).
$200 Family pass (2 adults, 2 children under 14yrs old)
For all bike option entries, $5 of each entry goes to Cure Kids.

BIKE DIVISIONS

Recreational: for racers who wish to have a good fun ride. 36kms
Sport: For racers who wish a longer challenge, and a decent ride. 45kms
Elite: for the fast and furious, 45kms

Junior 14 - 19yrs ............Open 20 - 39yrs ............Veteran 40 - 49yrs
Master 50 - 59yrs ...........Master + 60+yrs

RUN DIVISIONS

Junior: up to 16yrs old, male and female category
Open: 17 to 39yrs old, male and female category

THE BIKE COURSE
Starting in the Millbrook area competitors will descend via the Queenstown Trails to Speargrass Flat Rd, ascend Slope Hill Road, descend via lower Shotover Rd and Domain Rd onto the scenic single track that follows the true left bank of the Shotover River.

Across the restored Shotover Bridge to the Shotover delta before joining the Kawarau river track and then across the Kawarau River Bridge

One kilometer of highway riding will have the riders approach the scenic and private Kawarau River Road down the true right bank. A gently undulating ride will bring riders to the finish line at the Chard farm winery with bbq and band.

THE RUN COURSE
On leaving the start line, the exclusive 12.5kms run course descends to almost Kawarau River level, and from then on rolls up and over the river terraces, crosses the Rastus burn, and climbs to the finish line at Chard Farm.

EVENT INFORMATION
The event will be run primarily on the Queenstown Trails tracks (for bikers), but also public roads and Shotover Riverside tracks and roads. The section along the banks of the Kawarau, which will be used by riders and runners, is on private property. There is absolutely no access permitted on any of the privately owned property of Cone Peak Station along the side of the Kawarau prior to the event.

During the event the gates will be marshalled, but participants must watch for stock.

Only registered riders and runners will be allowed on the privately owned land.

Please do not leave any rubbish along the route. All food wrappers and other rubbish must be carried to the finish and not discarded anywhere along the route.

Bike Registration / Race Packs
Located at Millbrook Resort, registration will take place on race day Saturday 30st March 2013 from 8.15am for Elite, 8.30am for Sport and from 9.30am for Recreational competitors.
Your race pack will be available at registration and will contain your race number, cable ties, and promotional material from sponsors. The number must be attached to the front of your bike for the event. Your race briefing, and pick up time will be emailed to you.

Bike Race Briefing / Timetable
BIKE Race briefings:
8.45am for Elite and Sport.
9.45am for Recreational.
First wave start times: 9am for Elite and Sport, 10am for Recreational.
Note: registration, briefing and start times are subject to change.

Run Registration / Briefing
Registration will take place in a private paddock situated at the bottom of the Remarkables. To get there from Queenstown, take highway 6 to Invercargill accross Kawarau Bridge, and turn left off the sweeping corner to Boyd road. Follow race signs to paddock car park.
Note: Boyd road is before the Remarkables skifield turn off. The road leading to the start line is on private land.

Run Registration: strictly from 8am to 8.40am
Run Briefing:8.45am
Run Race Start: 9am

Your race pack will be available at registration and will contain your race number, and promotional material from sponsors. The number must be attached to the front of your running bib. Your race briefing, and pick up time will be emailed to you.

Transponders
Transponders will be available to pick up on race morning at registration. Securely attach the transponder following the instructions.
If you lose your transponder there will be a $30 replacement charge. Please also notify event staff at the finish line. Your transponder will be removed by volunteers at the finish line. If you leave the finish area without them removing it please come back and hand it in, it is your responsibility that it is returned!

Route Markings
The route will be marked as required with tour de wakatipu signage
There are unmarked hazards on this course. Potholes, rocks, stock, rutted tracks, steep descents are all part of what is required to be negotiated by the competitor.

Competitor Transport
Return from Chard Farm - by bike or private car.
We don't have a transport system back to Millbrook not to the Remarkables Run start.

Traffic & Parking
Millbrook: Traffic Marshal's will be in place to direct vehicles. Please obey their instructions. If required all day parking will be available. Absolutely no cycling or warm-ups on the public roads adjacent to the Millbrook is permitted before the event.
Chard Farm:
it is a narrow road into Chard Farm but there is space for passing carefully. A limited amount of parking will be avaliable in Chard Farm. Be carefull crossing the Highway.
Remarkables Run Start: there is plenty of space to park your vehicle.
