It's official, today we have opened the online entries for the Tour de Wakatipu!
It took us some time to get there, but thanks to our web designer, we have now an internal system which should simplify the entry process for everyone.
We are very excited to bring this event on the calendar again - mark it, it is the 3rd April, Easter Saturday 2010 - and we will continue to work toward bringing a well organised, warm hearted and fun event to all.
We are committed to grow the event while still retaining the atmosphere that we were praised for last year, and have retained the wave system allowing for some "room on the track".
In short, the Sport and Elite will start in waves of around 100 bikers first, and time will be allocated for them to have an earlier prize giving than the recreational bikers. Recreationals will start a little later, also in waves of similar size, and finish with a prize giving of their own.
For those who have entered the event last year, we recommend you look at your finishing time, and enter the Recreational, Sport or Elite category accordingly. Elite times were mostly under 2hrs, Sport 2hrs - 2hrs 30mins and Recreational from 2hrs 30mins on upwards. These are guidelines only and the times in the different divisions varied a lot last year.
So grab your entry now, treat yourself or a friend for Xmas, and be part of the Easter Week End mountain bike event of the year.
Simply go to our registration page, click the online registration button, and follow the prompts. Entry numbers will be limited.
Don't forget to be generous in the Xmas season, donate some extra dollars to Cure Kids, and join the Wakatipu Trails Trust.
